Talk:Ubuntu 9.04 server 32bit

Welcome addition, though I still prefer the "vanilla ubuntu 8.10 with ffmpeg [...]" even on my 9.04 install. What I prefer is that you can just copy/paste in the terminal the whole blocks of code instead of a line at a time, and still have a working system afterwards. I think you should clean the < code > blocks so that there is just code in there, and limit the explanations to the normal body text. But all in all, the 8.10 guide still works like a charm on 9.04.
hi ! tks ! I agree and will do that!

This is an excellent guide. I had been running 1.23.1 on Mandriva 2008 for a couple of years and could never quite get to upgrade to 1.24.x.
Managed to do a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.04 and the latest version of ZM in about 30 minutes using this guide and it's been running like a dream since.
I've also installed a couple of extra packages, of which the most useful probably
monit: to monitor apache, mysql and zm processes and config files which will restart the process if failed or if the config files have changed
Thanks
It might be easier to add the Zoneminder repositories for 9.04 and install packages instead of compiling by source.
