Post Sanyo VCB 3100 or similar CCD cameras
Purchased some great CCD cameras with telephoto lenses and thought they would make a good addition to my ZM setup. Unfortunately I am not a guru at this and know enough to be a little more than dangerous...

I have some Sanyo and Panasonic CCD cameras.

Will these cameras work with ZM?
What would be the size of the image? 320 X 240?
What other settings do I experiment with?

I am getting a bit of an image but a lot of horizontial lines... something is out of sync or not set correctly. Is there a software program that can help me with this or are these cameras not functional with ZM. My other cameras work great but are the typical CCTV security cameras you can buy from ebay.

How do I make this work.

Many thanks!

JM

I assume they are convential cctv cameras with a composite output. If so you should check their output it will probably be NTSC or PAL and set your zm machine the same, Bear in mind all inputs on the same chip must have he same settings

Post Cameras
All have BNC outputs. I have connected each one of the CCD cameras and they all show the same type of image. Do I need to set the pixel size of the image to a size that a particular camera puts out or are there other settings that I should focus on?

I would suggest you have a card issue.
If you connect the cams to a normal tv/monitor do they work ok?
If so id work on getting your card working properly. Also use tvtime/xawtv to see images before getting the images into zm

Post Card fine
Card is fine. I am using other cameras on the card that are the CCTV type security cameras on ebay. They plug right in and work fine.

then it must be a video format error, are you using PAL or NTSC on your old cams and what do your new cams give out. COuld you attach an image of what you get

Post Problem solved
As I had said... I know enough to be dangerous. To me the "grey" setting for a camera would be for a B/W camera... right? Guess not. I tied every conceiveable setting until at last I tried the RGB24. Phew! Perfect!

Thanks James for your thoughts.
