failed upgrade from 1.22.3 to 1.23.3 attempt, other troubles
I'm a linux newb -- but I've done a lot of googling and reading before asking for help. Here goes.
Confident after successfully installing the 1.22.3 livecd, I tried to follow the upgrade from RPM instructions located here:
http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.ph ... _RPM_notes
I downloaded everything I could RPM wise from here
http://www.isentrix.com/pub/zoneminder/rpms/mdv_2007/
and put the files ... anywhere (cause there is no guidance on that point)
Ross says there are a few new required packages, but does not name them all ... says " The rest can be filled in by urpmi from configured sources" ... no clue what that means. Does it mean urpmi will sort out what dependent RPMS will be needed? Anyhow I proceeded to download the new zm rpm and then do "sudo urpmi zm-1.23.3-1mdv2007.0.i586.rpm"
It fails, saying
I said yes to, continue installing anyway ... prolly a bad idea.
Blundering along I click on the few of the RPMS I downloaded, then decide, that 1.22.3 is working dam well enough and stop this upgrade insanity.
Trouble is, now when I run "sudo service zm start" I get this jazz
I figured out how to start the program by using"sudo /usr/lib/zm/bin/zmpkg.pl start" but i fear I loused things up ... any insights as to how restore things so the start script works again?
here's the contents of my /etc/zm.conf
Thanks!
