Post Wanted: paid ZM consultant for installation / maintenance
I volunteer at a subsidized senior housing complex in Torrance CA (just south of LA) and am looking to hire someone to help us upgrade our video monitoring system. We currently use a VQ Series DVR made by Rainbow CCTV with 16 cameras around the premises. The PSU in the system died, possibly taking other components with it.

The system is poorly supported and the software is decidedly non-free (commercial app running on embedded XP), so I'd like to move to a Zone Minder-based system. The company that currently maintains the system for us is asking $1500 for repair but suggested we replace the whole thing and upgrade the software for about $3000. I'm hoping for approximately that same amount of money, I can have someone do the following things (or guide me through them):

1) Replace the necessary hardware
It is likely that the video capture card we currently have is not supported by Zone Minder. We may need a new 16-input capture card and I would like to buy from a Free Software-friendly company.
Although I replaced the PSU, the system will not currently POST. Might also need new HDs or mobo.

2) Install Zone Minder

3) Provide tips on using the system

I would also like the consultant to be available in the future for additional paid support by phone or email.

II am familiar with gnu/linux generally but would like a hired consultant with me on the project to increase my chances of success in the project. I am hoping to get the project going immediately, as our monitoring system is currently offline.

If you or someone you know might be interested, please email me or call 310-350-8825.

There is a vendor that is US based that openly supports ZM that you can find in the shop link in the header of the site and they have various capture cards that work very well.

Besides Phil and myself, you might want to contact either Ross Melin, or Lee Sharp, (from the top of my head) they are both very good with both Linux and ZoneMinder.

I have been gone a while, but I am back now. :) And yes, I can do this. With all new equipment on the server side, under your budget. (Assuming your analog cameras and cables are good) PM me for direct contact info.
