Post D1 PCI DVR (ZONEMINDER compatible) cards
I have been doing some research on dvr cards that offer high recording resolution (D1) at a reasonable cost and I would like to share my results so far and ask for your help. I am interested in an 8 channel or a 16 channel setup with high fps.

I have no idea whether today (ZM 1.25) these cards are compatible with zoneminder.

8 CH Philips SAA7134 CCTV DVR Card is one solution

http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.ph ... 34_chipset

there are more solutions that i found.

Techwell 6868 chipset cards

Conexant 23881 chipset cards

Philips 7230 chipset

Are these supported?
Do you have any to suggest?

While reading this post viewtopic.php?f=14&t=17819
I discovered that Connexant BT878 chip can be used to get 640x480 resolution. While that is good news i may get lower frames per second to do that and i can't have H.264. But the price is great!

Post Re: D1 PCI DVR (ZONEMINDER compatible) cards
I just ordered 2 techwell 6816 based cards. Does anyone have any exprerience with those cards?

If i had the choice i would also build an AMD pc but i dont want to have any problems on my first attempt so i am thinking about getting an intel i3 pc with sata3. Most card manufacturers say that their cards are intel compatible and i dont have the exprerience to say otherwise.

It seems that these cards (at least up till now) do not have a working linux driver. I did try the gitorious drivers, but they are too hard for me to install(i tried opensuse and ubuntu 11.10), plus in the forums it is said that they will not work on anything above 6805. Next i will try to get some philips 7130 cards, hopefully these will work.
